The rare Giant Pacific Salamander has been sighted four times. Other amphibians including Northern red-legged frog, Rana aurora, are resident along the creek and mossy woodlands. There is a wide variety of birds including wrens, hummingbirds, warblers, kinglets, vireos, chickadees, woodpeckers, and raptors. There is a shy resident, Aplodontia rufa, near the Mitchell Creek bog. Douglas squirrels and chipmunks harvest Spruce cones, and also blossoms of the Chilean Lantern Trees.
